WINCHESTER MODEL 1873 SADDLE RING CARBINE. Cal. 44WCF(44-40). SN 416097. 3rd model standard carbine with 20″ bbl, full magazine, square base barleycorn front sight with 1873 marked carbine ladder rear sight. It has a staple & ring in the left side of the receiver. It is mounted with nicely figured, American walnut, uncheckered with straight stock & carbine butt plate with trap containing an original 3-pc brass & iron cleaning rod. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbl & magazine tube retain 85-90% original blue, thin in spots especially over the forearm area. Receiver retains 75-80% thinned, cleaned original blue with dark case colors on the hammer. Forearm has a crack in the tip, otherwise the wood is sound and retains about all of a restored finish. Mechanics are fine. Very bright shiny bore. 4-56677 JR438 (5,500-7,500)
