WESTERN UNION STOCK TICKER. Technically known as “the Western Union Automatic Self-Winding Ticker”. Used throughout the 1920s through the 1940s providing stock quotes and later news and sporting event info. The black painted cast iron base reads “Quotations Furnished by the Western Union Telegraph Co, Apply to Local Manager”. Interior contains elaborate electromagnetic device stamped “35-A” (model number), serial number “8505” and “Mfg By T.A. Edison, Inc.”. Comes with original glass dome and two hand painted wooden signs: “American Stock Exchange” and “New York Stock Exchange”. SIZE: 13-1/2″ h x 8″ dia. CONDITION: Very good with average chipping to base and general oxidation to internal parts. 1-10275 (4,000-6,000)
