HISTORICAL WALL STREET PORCELAIN STREET SIGN, CIRCA 1920S. Extremely rare and historically significant New York City porcelain street sign marking the Wall Street intersection of Exchange Place and New Street, circa 1920s. This sign actually stood across the street from the New York Stock Exchange. This double sided sign is made of porcelain enamel over steel, and is in its original heavy cast iron bracket marked “Traffic & Street Sign Co., Newark NJ”. Simply a fascinating and museum worthy item that no doubt witnessed the stock market crash of 1929. SIZE: 25-1/2″ w x 12-1/2″ t. CONDITION: Has slight porcelain loss to one side but otherwise retains all the original patina you would expect being outdoors. 1-12933 (30,000-50,000)
