QUEEN SHERBET GLASS SYRUP DISPENSER. Early etched glass dispenser set within a brass frame and mounted on a beige marble base. Glass dispenser is etched “Queen Sherbet/From Fresh Fruits/and Berries/Strengthens/The Stomach/Relieves Fatigue/W.P. Sheldon/Malden, Mass.” Bottom portion of dispenser embossed with “W.P. Sheldon/Registered”. Research indicates Mr. Sheldon was a druggist in Malden, MA who operated the oldest pharmacy in town and dispensed his concoction of fruit juices and soda water commencing around 1890 at “Sheldon’s Family Drug Store”. SIZE: 9-1/2″ w x 7-1/2″ d x 26-1/2″ h. CONDITION: Very good to excellent with what appears to be original metal slip-fit cap and spigot. 1-11691 (2,000-3,000)
