PAIR OF SHERATON BIRDSEYE AND TIGER MAPLE SIDE CHAIRS. Circa 1825. The curved birdseye maple crestrail above a central slat carved with lyre formed acanthus leaves centering a floral rosette, the tiger maple stiles with rolled ears. The trapezoidal woven seat raised on frontal bulbous ring-turned legs, the rear legs backswept, all joined with a double box stretcher. The frontal stretcher lyre form. SIZE: 32″ h; 18″ seat h. CONDITION: Chairs retain original surfaces of honey brown color with mellow patina. Ears of each chair with professional restoration. Otherwise very good with original seats. 9-22503 (300-400)
