PATENT MODEL HARVESTER. Patented August 18, 1868 by G. W. Yost #81,241. Diminutive all brass model with two spoke wheels supporting a gear mechanism encased within a gear box below a flat formed seat. Completed by a hand lever to the right of the driver that raises and lowers the dummy sickle bar and a lever at the front of the unit that engages/disengages the gear mechanism. Retains original patent and receiving tags (with a couple of small tears) as well as a Cliff Petersen tag. SIZE: 8-1/2″ w x 3″ h. PROVENANCE: The late Terry Wesner collection, Chelsea, Michigan. CONDITION: Very good to near excellent.
