Large oil on canvas Boston School portrait shows a woman seated in a porch armchair with sunlight cascading on her and the potted flowers that line the porch deck. She wears a pink and white summer dress and is gazing off to the right. Signed lower right “H C Dunbar”. Housed in a fine ripple decorated gilt modern frame. Back stretcher having a label with sitters name, also “1886-1917 Wife of Austin F. Hawes”. SIZE: 46″ x 32″. CONDITION: Two canvas repairs with corresponding inpainting.
