AMERICAN SHEET IRON ROOSTER WEATHERVANE IN RED PAINT. Last quarter 19th century. Discovered in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. This folk art example with comb and wattle and exaggerated beak (Note: the beak is forged to the main body) depicted with three tail feathers mounted on its original iron rod.
