THREE PALAU ISLAND ITEMS. Palau officially the Republic of Palau is an island nation in the Pacific Ocean, some 500 miles east of the Philippines and 2,000 miles south of Tokyo. It comprises between 250-300 islands and are for the most part uninhabited. It was the scene of the shooting of the movie Hell in the Pacific starring Lee Marvin and Toshiro Mifune. These three items in this lot were collected by Lee at that time. 1) 35″ x 14″ stick and shell depiction of the islands and their corresponding water currents. 2) 10″ long shell scoop or brush. 3) 3″ x 2-1/2″ basketry container having a shell fish hook with line.
