NEW ENGLAND CLASSICAL MAHOGANY SIDEBOARD. Second quarter 19th century, probably Massachusetts. The rectangular top with molded stepped splashguard joined to baluster-turned gallery sides. The case fitted with a central cutlery drawer flanked by short drawers over four cupboard doors with figured mahogany gothic arched panels, alternating with engaged reeded column pilasters. On block bases above cylindrical legs terminating in ball feet. SIZE: Overall height 51 1/4″ W 73 1/4″ D 25 1/4″ CONDITION: With original cleaned and polished surfaces and original glass knobs. The top with old shrinkage cracks. Minor and minimal losses to veneers and cockbeading. 9-97692 (1,000-2,000)
