RIEDINGER & CAIRE SALT GLAZE THREE GALLON JUG AND THREE GALLON CROCK. Second half 19th century, New York. Jug decorated with a bird on a sprig with incised mark “3/RIEDINGER & CAIRE/POUGHKEEPSIE NY”. Crock decorated with a bird on a stump and similarly marked. SIZE: Jug: 15-3/4″ h. Crock: 10″ h x 11″ dia. CONDITION: Jug with minor spot staining on shoulder and slight bubbling in blue underglaze and with shallow rim chip, otherwise good. Crock with staining along base, absence of one applied handle, spotty glazing losses around top rim. 9-22896 (400-600)
