PATENT MODEL LAWNMOWER. Patented ___1878 by A. Jarsberg, #265,366. Unusual early lawnmower reminiscent of a handheld plow with curved wooden handles (both with breaks and missing pieces) leading to a textured brass center wheel gear mechanism that leads to a horizontal saw blade disc under which is a series of tines to thatch the grass. Accompanied by original patent tag (worn and faded with some edge wear). SIZE: 17″ l x 7″ w x 12-1/2″ h. PROVENANCE: The late Terry Wesner collection, Chelsea, Michigan.
