QUEEN ANNE MAHOGANY TILT TOP BIRDCAGE TEA TABLE. Two-board top having an attached birdcage mechanism with simple turned columns. Base having an urn turned shaft supported by three outstretching snake legs with pad feet. Probably Pennsylvania, Last half of the 18th Century. SIZE: Top: 31″ x 30-1/2″; 28-1/2″ h. PROVENANCE: The Estate of Joan B. Hanson, Fair Haven, N.J. CONDITION: Top has separation at the seam of the two boards, missing its donut and wedge for affixing birdcage to post.
