RARE CAILLE MAYFLOWER CAST IRON TRADE STIMULATOR. An early gambling device, circa 1905, similar in nature to the Caille Puritan. However this is a much rarer model and seldom found especially in all original condition! The main difference between the Caille Puritan and Mayflower is that this is a 5-reel machine with card symbols where as Puritan is only a 3-reel machine with either fruit symbols or numbers. The iron cabinet has a cast decoration on front and both sides and is in its original nickel plated finish. A unique triangular coin entry head accepts only nickels; all other coins are rejected out the back base of coin entry head. The iron marquee with reward paper and mirrored back (operator could see cards as well) is intact and original. The rear door/drawer which is marked PURITAN MACHINE CO. DETROIT, MICHIGAN is intact with original lock and key present. Five cent operation is smooth and the paper reel strips are in very fine+ condition with only some minimal loss to first strip. A counter on the upper left front casting indicates amount of plays (27,109) registered and the serial number of this machine is 5038. SIZE: 10″ w x 6-1/2″ d x 11″ t. CONDITION: Overall very good -fine original 1-10537 (8,000-12,000) Auction: Advertising, Toy & Doll - Spring 2010 Please Note: All prices include the hammer price plus the buyer’s premium, which is paid by the buyer as part of the purchase price.
