DOG LOCK MUSKET. Cal. 15/16”. 45” round bbl with Birmingham proof marks. There are no visible markings on the lock. Dog lock is an early feature as is the lack of a trigger guard. The frizzen has a bridle. There is no buttplate and the letters “JSC” have been carved on the end grain. “·D·B·” on the left side of the buttstock. There is a hole at the rear of the left flat of the stock. Ramrod is a replacement. CONDITION: Rust/brown patina overall with light to moderate pitting. Minor cracks on the stock, especially at the butt. Mechanically good. 4-56911 FS157 (2,500-3,500)
