FINE NEW ENGLAND PAINT DECORATED AND GRAINED DOCUMENT BOX. 1st quarter 19th century. This nice example with original untouched mustard yellow and persimmon graining within green borders. Hinged lid with attachment leather straps joined to the conforming box mounted with original brass lock and hasp. SIZE: 6-1/2″ h x 14″ l x 8-1/4″ d. CONDITION: Surfaces very good. Retaining strong color. Leather strapping damaged throughout. Side panels of box and lid slightly warped. Otherwise very good. 9-21776 (800-1,200)
