PATENT MODEL BURIAL CASKET. Patented April 16, 1878 by John Hornrighouse, #202,440. Walnut casket with raised panel containing rectangular glass viewing window. Appears to be made not to open. Mounted to a four legged integral base of curved wood for display. Set with metal plaque engraved with inventor’s name. Accompanied by original patent tag (small tear and some minor loss) and receiving tag (torn). SIZE: 9-1/2″ l x 4-3/4″ w (base) x 4-3/4″ h.
