UNIDENTIFIED FLINTLOCK KENTUCKY-TYPE RIFLE. Cal. 50. 43” oct bbl. No markings. Pcs assembled using mostly old parts. European lock appears to function well. Stock is partially shaped in Roman nose style. It has been stamped with a punch with the date “1791 +” on the right side. Sideplate is a plain brass sheet. 2-pc patchbox has light engraving. CONDITION: Gray patina with light to heavy pitting. Reconverted lock has an incorrect top jaw and screw. Lock has been fitted to the wood using plastic wood. Stock has been revarnished. Lock is functional. 4-55290 (500-1,000)
