RELIANCE NOVELTY POKER MACHINE. A classic and ornate cast-iron card machine with an exposed mechanism. Upon depositing a penny in the slot and depressing the plunger, the five cylinders – each containing a number of cards that are spring-loaded – would spin and the player’s poker hand would appear, as well as the last coin played in lower right corner of front window. A number of different companies manufactured card machines, coming in a multitude of sizes and forms. This example is small, compact, and attractive. The iron castings other than the marquee are intact and in original nickel-plated finish. Front casting is embossed with “RELIANCE NOVELTY CO.” and the original cash drawer at rear of machine is marked “VICTOR”. SIZE: 11″ w. x 9″ d. x 15″ h. CONDITION: Overall good to very good original condition and working. 1-10311 (4,000-6,000) Auction: Advertising, Toy & Doll - Spring 2010 Please Note: All prices include the hammer price plus the buyer’s premium, which is paid by the buyer as part of the purchase price.
