PATENT MODEL BURGLAR ALARM. Patented April 13, 1858 by Herschell Bauman & Locker, #19,973. Wooden framework with turned corner columns set with clockwork motor topped with large bell. Center section consists of four sliding beams with weights and are attached to a pulley mechanism. How it actually functioned is unknown or whether this item ever went into production. Regardless it is a highly detailed and fascinating piece of early technology. Accompanied by original patent tag (very good). SIZE: 13-3/4″ l x 7″ d x 10-1/2″ h.
