RAOUL VARIN (1865-1943) “THE AMERICAN NATIONAL GAME OF BASE BALL”. Limited edition aquatint print shows the action from the Grand Baseball Match at the Elysian Fields, Hoboken, N.J. 1866. This is a reproduction of the famous Currier & Ives print with the same title. This was published in 1929 by A. Ackermann & Son Inc., NY., 1929. Pencil signed “R Varin” and numbered “103/150″. Housed in a gold & black modern frame with white matte. The back having an Arthur Ackermann & Son label. SIZE: Sight: 18-1/4″ x 25”. PROVENANCE: Robert Frederick Woolworth Estate, Monmouth, Maine. (F.W. Woolworth Store). CONDITION: Not examined out of frame. Overall toned, very good. 9-23484 (800-1,200)
