5 CENT WATLING ROL-A-TOR SLOT MACHINE W/ AN ORIG. WATLING WOODEN CRATE. In the early 1930s, Watling devised a most attractive machine to catch the player’s eye. A cornucopia with a bevy of gold American coins spilling from within, and on the lower casting on either side of the twin jackpots, more American coins cascade down the front casting. Unique to this style machine, a coin was deposited in the top of the cornucopia and the last eight coins were on visible display. This style machine was manufactured for less than two years before they changed the name to Rol-a-Top, along with a flat steel handle, American coins, and a wood cabinet with perimeter grooving. This particular machine is in original finish to not only the wood, but the castings and still retains an abundance of gold flashing to the coins! Machine retains original tin reel strips with some wear, original Watling cash box, and original back door (lock replaced). Mechanism is very clean and in working order. Included with this machine is an original Watling wooden crate used to ship slot machines. Various stampings on the side include the Watling manufacturing logo. SIZE: 15″ w x 15″ d x 28″ h.
