CAILLE “BANKER” TRADE STIMULATOR. An early 20th century gambling device frequently found in saloons, general sores, barbershops, etc. The concept being a hand of poker was “dealt” to the gambler in hopes of obtaining trade or cash for a winning hand. A nickel is deposited in the coin entry and the plunger/thumb lever pushed down would cause the five reels to spin and a new poker hand would appear in short order. At the turn of the century various types of these poker machines were prolific because they were very simple with almost no maintenance, yet having much appeal letting the operator reap substantial profits for a small investment. A fanciful front iron casting, upon close examination one can see the word “BANKER” cast into the ornate design and also the trademark “C B” (Caille Brothers) also cast into the design. The cabinet, mounted on a swivel base, is constructed of quarter-sawn oak with a wooden back door (replaced) and upon the top of the cabinet is a elaborate casting depicting two semi-nude women encasing the reward schedule for winning poker hands. SIZE: 13″ w x 8″ d x 24″ t. CONDITION: Overall very fine + condition. Rewards marquee is not original to the machine. 1-10536 (2,000-4,000)
