Usual configuration with 24-1/4″ oct bbl with integral magazine, German silver front sight & missing rear sight. It has a replacement, probably Winchester 1892 or 1894, buttstock with an orig Henry brass buttplate with trap & pointed heel. Right side of bbl has “C.G.C.” & “H” inspector marks. Inspector marks have been polished from frame. Serial number “3508” appears on left side of lower tang under wood & serial number “3985” appears inside toe of buttplate. Stock has no serial number. Long, tang machine screw is missing & the buttplate screws are replacements. Lever is probably from a Model 1866 or 1873 as it will not latch under lever lock. CONDITION: Fair to good. Bbl retains a smooth plum/brown patina with a few nicks & scratches & hammer marks around sight dovetail. Bbl swivel keeper screw is battered. Receiver shows heavy wear & polishing with nicks & scratches & a few hammer marks on top of sideplates & around front flats of receiver, apparently to re-tighten the bbl in frame. Stock has a crack in web & two holes on left side, otherwise has a couple of hairlines back of top tang, a crack below top tang & retains about 75% orig finish. Mechanics are fine, strong bore with heavy pitting & a ring about 4″ from muzzle. 4-57566 (8,500-12,500)
