PATENT MODEL VELOCIPEDE. Patented August 9, 1881 by W.H. Houff, #245,499. Large three wheeled hand powered vehicle with spoked wheels, tin saddle seat, brass foot rests and two hand cranks turning a gear mechanism to propel the vehicle. Accompanied by original patent tag (good with bent corner and light staining). SIZE: 11″ l x 9-1/2″ w x 7-3/4″ h. PROVENANCE: The late Terry Wesner collection, Chelsea, Michigan. CONDITION: Good to very good with what appears to be some old repairs. 1-12669 (1,500-2,500)
