GERMAN GLASS EYED CHINA SHOULDER HEAD DOLL. 1850s era glazed porcelain head with inset brown glass eyes, painted upper and lower lashes, rosy cheeks, closed mouth with slight smile and molded and painted black hair with center part with short curls covering most of the ears with a cluster of short curls in back stopping at neckline. Body is stuffed muslin with brown leather forearms and she wears an off the shoulder printed wool dress of the period. SIZE: 19″ (49cm). CONDITION: Head is very good with a few minor kiln dust specks and pitting. Arms have deteriorated; left arm missing and body is broken at both ankles. Dress also has considerable moth damage. 1-12521 (800-1,200)
