SCARCE DU PONT 1904 CALENDAR. Beautiful and very busy calendar with colorful image of a train depot with a hunter loading a case of shot shells on a mule-drawn wagon and a small black child attempting to control four bird dogs with four porch-setter kibitzers discussing the merits of the dogs in the background. The station agent appears to be perusing a ticket. There is a wood and metal trunk, another case of shot shells, and two leg-o-mutton shotgun cases in the foreground. The train depot sign reads “Guntown”. In the far background are old buildings, one with a hotel sign and the other “General Merchandise and Post Office”. This scene is titled “The first day of the open season”. The bottom two fifths of the calendar has the gold Du Pont name and the full page 1904 calendar. The individual pages are not present. SIZE: 28-1/4” t x 15-1/2” w. CONDITION: Good, both bands are intact with one fold at the top of the calendar with small damages on both edges and a few small creases toward the bottom, not affecting the image in any way. Colors are vivid and bright. JR 1-7012 (1,000-1,500)
