ANTHONY THIEME (American, 1888-1954) THE RED SKIFF. Outstanding oil on canvas laid on board Gloucester or Rockport Harbor scene shows a red building on a dock having boats moored to side, one having a blue hull with a red skiff beside with figure. The scene is reflected in the calm water and is set under a light morning sky. Incised signed lower left “A Thieme”. Housed in a wood frame with linen matte and white liner. A wonderful small early example of this artist’s work. SIZE: 8″ X 10″. CONDITION: Very good. 9-95693 (4,000-6,000)
