SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE FEDERAL MAPLE BOWFRONT CHEST OF DRAWERS. Circa 1820. The rectangular top with bowfront above the conforming case fitted with 4 graduated long drawers, each with mahogany cross banding and bird’s-eye maple panels, fitted with original brass hardware.The case raised on French feet, centering a scalloped, astragal-arched apron with central pediment. SIZE: 35″ h x 39-1/2″ overall w x 21″ d. PROVENANCE: Collection of Elwyn Dearborn, Medford, NJ & Portland, ME. CONDITION: Refinished with restoration to veneers, feet reglued, old shrinkage split in top, reset with subsequent shrinkage. Hardware and backboards original. 9-95923 (2,000-4,000)
