HARDWOOD BOX WITH EIGHT JADE PLAQUES. First half 20th century, China. The rectangular brass bound box with hinged lid opening to an interior fitted with eight rectangular jade plaques, each with calligraphy on both sides within borders. The stones of jadeite green color, not tested for color. SIZE: Plaques: 2-1/2″ x 1-3/4″. Box: 2-1/2″ h x 13-1/2″ l x 7-3/4″ d. CONDITION: Box with tight shrinkage cracks and slight warping, otherwise good. Please very good. 9-28148 (600-800)
