LARGE OPEN MOUTH FRENCH DOLL CIRCA 1900. Made for the firm of Jumeau, the doll is incised simply “DEP 15”. These heads were made for Jumeau by Simon & Halbig and were marketed as Jumeaus when originally sold. She has an open mouth with four teeth, blue glass sleep eyes with painted lower lashes and original thick silk upper lashes, finely painted and enameled eyebrows and mounted on the original chunky full jointed French wood and composition body. She is dressed in a fine quality white lace dress with oversized collar and wears a honey colored antique French human hair wig over cork pate. She has nice antique underwear, but no shoes or stockings. SIZE: 34″ h (87cm). CONDITION: Excellent, minuscule earring hole chip on right earlobe.
