PATENT MODEL LOCKING DESK. Patented August 5, 1873 by Lewis Renker, #144,461. Actually a patent for the locking mechanism, it is housed within an multi drawer desk, through an arrangement of rods and levers when one drawer is opened it allowed the others to open freely. When in place they all lock. Retains patent tag (good to very good). SIZE: 12-1/2″ w x 11″ d x 11-1/2″ h. PROVENANCE: The late Terry Wesner collection, Chelsea, Michigan.
