OPEN MOUTH JUMEAU BEBE. Late 19th Century bisque child with head incised only with a “10”, however undoubtedly from the firm of Jumeau. She has blue glass sleep eyes, open mouth with six molded upper teeth, well painted eyebrows, upper and lower lashes, pierced ears and is mounted on her original fully jointed unmarked French wood and composition body. She has been beautifully redressed in a cream silk dress with embroidered design, a green corduroy vest with lace trim and appliquéd cloth flowers and topped with an emerald green felt hat with pink feathers and cloth flowers. The dark human hair wig is most likely original or most certainly of the period. Shoes are a newer black leather design and are unmarked. SIZE: 22” t (56cm). CONDITION: Bisque head is very good to excellent. Body has some typical paint chips with the right hand repainted and one finger reglued. 1-10387 (1,200-1,400)
