CAMEO AND SILVER BOWL.

CAMEO AND SILVER BOWL. Very interesting cameo bowl features green cameo latticework design with rose stems and buds surrounding the vase. Vase is further decorated with wheel-carved lavender flowers all set against an acid textured slightly opalescent background. Flowers, leaves and stems are highlighted with gold gilding. Rim is finished with a silver band with matching rose, stem and leaf design. Bowl rests on a silver foot. Bowl is signed on underside of glass with etched signature “L.C. Tiffany Favrile” while the silver foot is engraved “Louis C. Tiffany/Laurelton Hall”. While we have never seen this type of work from Tiffany, we cannot say for certain it was not an experimental piece or a gift, for that matter, to Tiffany at Laurelton Hall. We will leave that decision to you. SIZE: 7″ t. PROVENANCE: From the Collection of Dorothy-Lee Jones. CONDITION: Very good to excellent. Silver foot appears to have been reapplied. 5-63846 (500-700)
