GEORGE LORING BROWN (American, 1814-1889) THE ONSET OF EVENING. Oil on paper laid on canvas scene shows four cows in shallow pond area with bridge on one side and a panoramic view looking toward distant hills on left side. Pink clouds on a blue sky with darker clouds on right indicate a setting sun. At the center is a man and a woman on path leading to the woods. Unsigned front, signed on reverse of canvas “Geo. L. Brown 1862″. SIZE: 8″ x 14-1/2”. CONDITION: Some minor touch up, very good. 9-93193 (10,000-15,000)
