BALLY RELIANCE DICE MACHINE. Similar in nature to the Buckley Bones, the Bally Reliance utilized different castings with horse heads decorating the front casting. An ingenious mechanism that allowed the prospective gambler to play craps and if a winner, a direct cash payout. Upon depositing a nickel, the player would press the handle and in the left window a set of dice would appear. A 7 or an 11 is an automatic winner and a cash payout. A 2 or a 12 is an automatic loser and the game is over. All other numbers would be then become the point number so if a 5 appeared, the player would press the handle again and a set of dice would appear in the right window. This would continue until the player “threw a 7″, thus the game would be over or until he threw his point number and became a winner. Various payouts depending upon the point. Obviously a 3 would payout much more than a 6 and awards are indicated on the front plaques of the machine. Not only is this machine visually attractive, but fun to play as well and one could easily understand this was a great money maker for the proprietor of the establishment. A very complicated mechanism, however it has been totally restored and cleaned as well as restoration to the exterior of the machine. Machine retains its original cash box however, back door is of a newer vintage. SIZE: Approx. 15-1/2″ w x 11-1/2″ d x 13” t. CONDITION: Overall very fine appearance/restoration, the machine is in operating condition and payouts appear to be correct however some minor lubrication/adjustment are needed. Occasionally after throwing a 7 in the right box or a winner with payout, the machine will play for free. If one wiggles the handle a little bit it locks in properly and will not allow you to play, which is correct. Most likely from little to no use has caused a little stiffness to the moving parts and as mentioned frequent playing and some minor lubrication should resolve this issue. 1-11707 (12,000-14,000) Auction: Advertising, Toy & Doll - Spring 2012 Please Note: All prices include the hammer price plus the buyer’s premium, which is paid by the buyer as part of the purchase price.
