UNUSUAL MYSTERY FRENCH DOLL. Although she is on a Steiner body, the head is simply incised “15” also over the logo of an anvil. She has blue paperweight eyes, open mouth with six upper teeth, multi-stroked and enameled eyebrows, pierced ears and dimple in the chin. Unlike Steiner dolls, she has a lip on the inside of the head rim. Dress is an elaborate recreation of an 1890s costume with ribbon inserts and a reproduction banner reading “Bebe Steiner”. Wig is replacement human hair. SIZE: 26″ (66cm). CONDITION: Very good with one speck on tip of nose, slight loss of color on chin and body has old light repaint. 1-12344 (1,000-2,000)
