PRESENTATION COPY OF THE GORKY PARK SCRIPT PERSONALIZED TO LEE MARVIN. The red leather cover tooled in gold with “Gorky Park” Lee Marvin. Title page “Revised 3rd Draft 2 May 1983”. Accompanying the script is a letter dated July 8, 1983 to Lee Marvin “Dear Lee: Please accept this gift as a memento of the time we all spent together on Gorky Park”. Signed by Michael Apted; Howard W. Koch, Jr. and Gene Kirkwood. The letter is on Gorky Park letterhead. Also included in the lot is a folded card with envelope “Welcome to Moscow! We’re glad you are here! Best Howard & Michael”. Screen play by Dennis Potter based on the novel by Martin Kruz Smith, directed by Michael Apted released in 1983. A cold war plot following an investigator on the Moscow police force relentlessly pursuing the solution to a triple homicide which occurred in Moscow’s Gorky Park. The movie starred Lee Marvin as Jack Osborne along with William Hurt. This movie was nominated for a Golden Globe in 1984 as well as winning the Edgar Award for Best Motion Picture and nominated for a BAFTA Film Award for Best Supporting Actor Michael Elphick in 1985.
