DUNBAR DYSON BECK (American, 1903-1986) “RESURRECTION”. Oil on canvas laid on board scene shows a man unfurling his death robe to the astonishment of the soldiers and men beside him. The scene has a painted black border and housed in a modern gilt molded wood frame with linen liner. Unsigned. Back having a label with artist name, title. We are told that this is from the dispersal of the Estate in 1986 and that the label on reverse, which has a Cat. # 7-5-86-M-14 is an estate label. Dunbar Beck was a muralist. His murals are in Rockefeller Center and also painted the interior of a piano for President Theodore Roosevelt in the White House. SIZE: 22-1/2″ x 13-1/2″. CONDITION: Very good. 9-94264 (2,000-4,000)
