WHITNEY MODEL 1822 FLINTLOCK MUSKET. Cal. 69. 42” rnd bbl. Marked “U.S / crossed arrow and olive leaves / E. WHITNEY” in front of the hammer and “NEW / HAVEN / 1833” at the tail of the lockplate. Date on the bbl tang is not legible. No cartouche is visible in the stock as that area is heavily gouged. Good reconversion using modern parts. CONDITION: Rust/brown patina overall with light pitting except at breech where it is heavy. Wood has moderate handling marks, wood is solid. Mechanically good. 4-57052 FS137 (1,500-2,500)
