ELEGANT FRENCH GLASS EYED PAPIER MACHE DOLL. Extremely early, possibly 1830s, shoulder head with inset pupiless glass eyes, wide nose, tiny closed mouth with pursed smile wearing the original human hair wig with side curls and braids on top. Body is a narrow waisted firm leather body with wooden forearms and wooden legs with painted orange shoes. She wears a period off the shoulder dress with puff sleeves, linen undergarments. SIZE: 17″ (43cm). CONDITION: Very good considering age with only minor wear. 1-12434 (2,000-2,500)
