EXCEPTIONALLY LARGE JULES STEINER BEBE. 1890s era Steiner with the head incised “FIGURE A NO. 7 / J. STEINER Bte / S.G.D.G. PARIS”. She has almond shaped eye cuts with blue/gray paperweight eyes, well painted eyebrows and eyelashes, shaded outlined lips with hint of a white space in between, shaded nostrils, well defined ears and mauve shading of upper eyelids. She is on her original fully jointed body which is stamped on left side of torso in blue “Le Petit Parisien BEBE STEINER”. She has the wider fingers with outlined nails and the body retains its original finish. She is simply dressed but in her original white cotton pleated chemise with pink silk ribbon inserts and a pink ribbon sash at the waist and a lovely original blond mohair wig with bangs which covers the original Steiner purple cardboard pate. Although antique, brown leather shoes are more than likely real child’s shoes. SIZE: 33″ h (84cm). CONDITION: Excellent with very tiny 1/2″ surface firing line at one of the cutouts on the head. 1-10386 (10,000-14,000)
