ATTRIBUTED TO CHILDE HASSAM (American, 1859-1935) STUDY OF POMEGRANATES. Oil on canvas still life scene shows three pomegranates, the center one has been split into thirds. They are seen against a mottled brown background. Signed lower left “Childe Hassam”. Housed in an old reeded gilt wood frame. Because there are only three still life’s known to have been done by this artist, thus the attribution. SIZE: 14″ x 16″. PROVENANCE: Purchased by our consignor from the Alice and Murry Braunfeld estate which was auctioned in 2004. Purchased in a portfolio, unstretched amongst prints. CONDITION: Tacked on new stretcher, very good. 9-94545 (2,000-4,000)
