LOT OF 2 FRENCH BISQUE HEAD DOLLS. The larger is an open mouth head made by Simon & Halbig for the French market, incised “DEP 8” and also stamped in red “TETE JUMEAU”. She has blue glass sleep eyes with lower painted lashes and well modeled and enameled eyebrows. The fully jointed body has an oval sticker “BEBE JUMEAU Diplome d’Honneur”. She also has her original brown leather Jumeau shoes and knit stockings. The smaller doll is a closed mouth doll with blue paperweight eyes, stamped in red “DEPOSE TETE JUMEAU Bte S.G.D.G.4”. She has a fully jointed composition body stamped in blue “JUMEAU MEDAILLE D’OR PARIS”. She has her original blond mohair wig and remnants of a red silk sailor costume. SIZE: DEP 19″ (48cm) h. Jumeau 13″ (33cm) h. CONDITION: DEP has considerable flaking to the paint of the body.
