LATE 19th CENTURY JULES STEINER BEBE. Petite closed mouth child doll with head incised “A-5 PARIS” on original composition French body which is jointed at the shoulders and hips and bears a red stamp reading “Le Petit Parisien BEBE STEINER”. She has blue/gray paperweight eyes, pierced ears, evenly painted eyebrows and eyelashes and is dressed in an elaborate cream silk with overlay ecru lace, aqua ribbon sash at waist and silk ribbon bows on sleeves. On the hem of the dress there is a purple/blue stamp which reads “Paris Bebe France”. She wears antique leather boots which button on the side and are stamped on the soles with the “Keystone” logo. The blond mohair wig over cardboard pate is original and is covered by a lovely antique bonnet which matches the dress. SIZE: 13” (33cm) t. CONDITION: Very good, minor flake at right earring hole, slight lack of color to tip of nose.
