GEORGE E. FORSTER (American/German, 1817-1896) TABLETOP STILL LIFE. Oil on wood panel scene shows a bowl of strawberries and grapes with green leaf set beside a birds nest with two eggs. Another egg is seen at edge of table broken open and a fly is nearby. A large Rhine wine glass is set in the center below which is a snail. Signed lower left “G Forster 1863″. Housed in a fine antique gesso decorated gilt frame. SIZE: 7-3/4″ x 9-3/4”. CONDITION: Very good, masking varnish. 9-93741 (8,000-12,000)
