FEDERAL WIRE AND BRASS FENDER AND KNIFE BLADE ANDIRONS. First quarter 19th century. The D-form woven wire fire fender with half round brass rail surmounted by three turned brass finials together with a pair of iron knife blade andirons capped with brass steepled finials, raised on arched legs terminating in penny feet. SIZE: Fender: 15″ h overall x 41-1/2″ w. Andirons: 18″ h x 17-3/4″ d overall. CONDITION: The painted wire work with some damage and repairs to left rear side facing, otherwise good. The andirons with one small split in finial, the second finial with repairs and restoration, minor deterioration to feet. 9-96496 (500-800)
