VIRGINIA MANUFACTORY MODEL 1795 MUSKET. Cal. 69. 44-3/8” rnd bbl. Dated 1802 at the tail of the lockplate. Standard markings on the lockplate. “ALBEMARLE” stamped on top of the bb. The lock is an old reconversion with hand forging on the bbl and bbl tang. The “88” on the side plate is possibly an issue number from the Albemarle Militia. CONDITION: Brown patina overall with some active rust on the bbl tang and hammer. Wood has been cleaned and waxed, and has a few cracks around the trigger guard and bbl tang. Ramrod is a replacement.
