SET OF 3 DOUBLE-SIDED WINCHESTER CARDBOARD SIGNS. From March 1920 through 1928, Winchester produced sets of cardboard panels designed to be inserted into a hinged wood frame for the store retailer to use as a window display. The sets were dated with the specific week or weeks Winchester intended the retailer to display them, with the products portrayed corresponding to the appropriate season. It is believed that approximately 100 different sets were produced in all. Originally part of a set of 5, these signs were intended as a store window display for the months of April and June 1923. One side of the signs depicts a fly fisherman netting a rainbow trout, while the reverse features five Winchester tool scenes. SIZE: Each is 18-1/4″ w x 40″ h. CONDITION: Generally good condition but each panel exhibits nail punctures with some cardboard loss, scuffs and soiling. 1-9656 (500-1,000)
