HEPPLEWHITE INLAID MAHOGANY BUTLER’S DESK. Early 19th century. The rectangular mahogany top with crossbanded and string inlaid edges above the conforming case, the upper deep drawer with hinged front opening to an interior fitted with a bank of document drawers centering 4 balanced pigeonholes over 3 additional long graduated drawers, all with oval string inlaid simulated panels and cockbeaded edges. Raised on French feet with shaped returns beneath an apron delineated with contrasting patterned geometric inlays. SIZE: 42″ h x 41″ w x 22-1/2″ d. CONDITION: Desk retains older professionally polished surfaces and with professional repairs to veneers. Old hardware in original holes. 9-97584 (900-1,200)
